{ADELE//ROYAL ALBERT HALL}

I recently watched Adele Live at the Royal Albert Hall and all I can say is that woman is incredible. Literally mind blowingly amazing in every single way, I could rave about Adele until the cows come home. She’s just so frank and down to earth, and her voice is oh so beautiful. Despite it being such a huge venue and having to watch it behind a TV screen, the whole production seemed incredibly intimate and you really felt you got to know a little piece of Adele through watching it. Being able to learn the story behind her songs and the reasons why she wrote them was fascinating, and I urge anyone who hasn’t seen it yet to go watch it as soon as possible, I think its still on BBC iplayer (click the image above) for a couple more days otherwise it’s out on DVD in most places. She is not only a national treasure but she is fast becoming a world treasure, and personally I think that’s pretty insane. She makes me proud to be British, God Bless Adele!

Below is one of my favourite ever songs from Adele and this performance takes it onto a whole other level. I recently found out one of my best friends Charlotte was actually in the audience, so ridiculously jealous!

{SNAIL MAIL//MAKING MY DAY}

My day, in fact week, no in fact month, has just been made. How you ask? Well my friends, its a beautiful combination of snail mail and best friends. The simplest, yet best combination ever. Since everyone heading off to university, myself and my gorgeous friend Steph decided to stay in touch the old school way, through letters and post. Now I know everyone is kind of over sending post, ‘cause facebook and email, is totally like, free now. BUT letters have a real charm about them that I just love and could never give up. I rarely get post so the happiness it brings to my heart whenever I receive something is unreal, even if it is just a prewritten letter from Jack Wills about their new collection. So we’ve been sending letters for a while, and it really is such a great way to keep in touch, especially cause we’re quite the busy bees and a hi de ho here and there on Facebook just doesn’t make the cut. Letters mean you can say everything you need to say, makes you feel like you have someone you can really talk to long distance and not only do you feel good after writing it, you’ve just made someone else’s day too. So this morning, I woke up to the loveliest surprise as I popped out into the freezing cold (spring?) weather to retrieve the post and there sat a little wrapped parcel waiting for me. I let out a big ‘awww’ when I saw it was from Steph, and hurried inside to open it. Now let me tell you, Steph is genuinely, the loveliest, sweetest, hilarious and most generous I know (perfect combination for a best friend right?) and if you receive a gift from her, you know it’s bound to be a gooden. I tore of the brown paper to reveal a little vintage postcard of the Eiffel and a pretty girl in red standing in front of it with a cute message from Steph on the back. The present was wrapped in gorgeous pink paper from Paperchase and as I carefully opened it (whilst awwh-ing constantly as I did it, naturally) it revealed that she had bought me the loveliest cook book ever called ‘The Vintage Tea Party’, something I had been coveting for a while after my sister got it as a gift for Easter, someone who can read your thoughts is always a sign of a true friend! I was overwhelmed and it has truly made my month, leaving me smiling from ear to ear. Why not make someone else’s day today, it doesn’t have to be extravagant, it can just be a pretty little letter sent to a good friend or loved one to show them that you care. Go on, make someones day today, trust me it’s worth it.

{NEW YOUTUBE SUBSCRIPTION//ESSIEBUTTON}

Over the past month or so, I had formed a real, possibly unhealthy, addiction to Youtube channels, predominately beauty ones and once again, why have I come across these channels? Through procrastination of course, and my oh my is it a good source of procrastination. The main channel that I am loving a lot at the moment is one by someone called Estee, otherwise known as Essie Button. She’s Canadian but living in Britain for university and I just find her so funny, brightens my day every time I watch one of her newly uploaded videos. She always has gorgeous make up and she gives you real insight into some great products and they’re all usually within a really achievable price range. I really do trust her opinion on things and I’m happy I’ve found her to help rid me of the homework blues with a bit of afternoon joviality, here, here!

{YOU AND ME IN THE PHOTOBOOTH}

{photographs from Pinterest}
I think when it comes to photography, I definitely have a specific style that I can just fall in love with again and again - vintage. The whole feel of it just gets me every time and gives me such a warm feeling inside, they’re the sort of photographs you just want to climb into because they just look so carefree and happy. An example of someone’s blog I’ve just come across that has loads of lovely photos is www.worldofvieta.tumblr.com, who’s photo’s I’ve also seen a lot on Lauren Conrad’s blog, another blog that follows the same aesthetic to the ones I love. Someone else I discovered a while ago who does similar style photography is a blog called everythingsright.com, where the blogger takes photographs, puts an effect on them and then layers thought provoking statements and quotes over the top to create some really great pictures. I myself love photography but I’m forever trying to work out how I can achieve the vintage look of photos with an SLR camera, I’d love to find out how at some point but for now I’ll just keep on searching…
